My name is Attila Domos and I'm a composer/songwriter living in Pittsburgh, PA. I write music for film/video. If you're a producer/director or someone who wants to hear some of my work for film/video, click the "Demo Page" link to the left. For everyone else, I have a few of my songs (about a CD's worth) on my "FREE Tunes" page, you're more than welcome to download absolutely FREE!

Enjoy them but if you decide to use any of my songs in a movie, video, documentary or in any way commercially with out my permission... I WILL SUE YOUR ASS OFF!!!

Now that the formality is out of the way, here's what's motivating me. I had a falling accident back in 1993 that left me paralyzed from the waist down. The irony of it is... I broke my back the same night my band (at the time) and I signed a recording deal with an Indy label from Cleveland. Isn't life funny that way? Oh well, what's done is done. Now... how do I get out of this chair? I am active in doing my part to bring about a cure for Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI). I'm not a doctor or researcher, but I do run the Pittsburgh chapter of the Spinal Cord Society, a grassroots organization dedicated to getting US out of these chairs and keeping YOU out of them. If you'd like to make a financial contribution towards real spinal cord research click on the "Spinal Cord Society" link.

My parents were musicians in the Oradea Orchestra in Romania. My father was principal flutist and mother was 2nd Viola 1st chair. I started piano lessons when I was 5. In 1978, at the age of 10, we moved to Austria and I was accepted into the Vienna Boys Choir. I was also taught composition by composer Eddo Altman.

At the age of 12 my family and I moved to Pittsburgh, PA in the US. I started taking trumpet lessons and got involved in Jazz. Through high school I was a member of the All City Band and Orchestra, first chair for 3 years and principal trumpet for both the Band and Orchestra my senior year.

After taking a year off, I got a scholarship to Duquesne University as a classical piano major with a voice minor.

I started getting involved in rock bands and went through a few as keyboard player before becoming singer/songwriter/front man for a local band called "Big Bad Wolf". We did the club circuit and I ended up quitting college.

In 1992 we were asked by "U.S. Rocker" magazine to be on their compilation CD, which we agreed to. In 1993 we signed with an independent label from Cleveland and I broke my back the same night, there fore nullifying the deal.

I spent the next 7 years just writing music. With the help of OVR (Office of Vocational Rehabilitation) and Curt Bucher, I got the funding to get some of the equipment I needed for my brother (Csaba) and I to perform again, but this time as a 2-man show. It was wild. Just 2 of us sounding as big as a 200 piece orchestra. Amazing how much technology has evolved. In 2001 we made a CD called "The Many Faces of Mr. DOMOS" and went  to Minneapolis to perform in front of about 7,000 people.  In the last few years I've turned my attention to writing music, scoring anything from movies, documentaries, instructional videos, etc. I've included some samples of my recent work in the "FREE Tunes!" section. I'm willing to do any type of work involving music. I charge a very reasonable fee, and I never use the same music in two jobs. When I score a piece of film, it's always original for that job. As I said... if you need music specially written for any project or occasion, I'm your guy. Any more questions? Call me at: (412) 205-3573, or drop me an e-mail: attila@attilasmusic.com

Three organizations I highly endorse and well worth a few minutes of your time to look at:

The folks at the University of Pittsburgh's Human Engineering Research Laboratories (H.E.R.L.) are doing some awesome work to advance technology to aid disabled people. They are always looking for volunteers and they actually pay you for your time and travel so... why don't you see if you can qualify for one of their studies, make a buck and do your part to support research that can, and more than likely will, benefit all of us sooner or later. It's also a neat way to see where technology is headed.

Kids Helping Kids is a non-profit 501-c-3 organization. Their mission is simple... to facilitate youth volunteer programs and social entrepreneurial projects that: provide equipment, services, and companionship for kids who've been affected by catastrophic illness or injury - keep those kids involved in the world of their peers and help them know they have not been forgotten - increase awareness among the healthy youth of America about the huge difference they can make in the life of another child.

The Spinal Cord Society is an organization totally focused on a cure for SCI's. If you've ever wanted to donate money to an organization to help fund research for a cure... this is the group. SCS is a non-profit 501-c-3 organization in good standing with the Minnesota Secretary of State. Contributions are tax deductible and can be made separately to the SCS Research Fund or SCS Newsletter Fund. 100% of all donations to the research fund go to research for cure.
